Lying at the heart of the Methodist Church is our belief in the “priesthood of all believers”, whereby all of us have an equal ministry in the church of God.
When it comes to specific roles, the bible speaks of elders in the life of the church and accordingly our stewards offer leadership alongside the minister. The ministry of the people of God goes far beyond these two roles however.
At Cornerstone Methodist church we service God in a variety of ways, in works of outreach as well as roles that keep the church running day by day. Outreach here includes:
- Food bank
- Credit Union
- Youth and Children’s work
- Coffee mornings
- Soup lunches
- Dementia care
- Toddler group
These aspects of our ministry are very visible yet some of the ways that we serve God are often hidden and carried out behind the scenes. All of these ministries are equally important to God and to the church.
If you feel called to serve God in the life of the church in any way, then please have a word with Phil or with one of the Stewards.
