Soup lunch

Rural isolation has been a long term problem that, as with so many social challenges, was far too often ignored and swept under the carpet. As demographics have changed and we have seen the rural population age the issue of isolation has come to the fore in the press and in governmental policy.

The churches have long drawn people together and, in their own way, tried to tackle this issue of isolation and this is something that we continue to do within our Aspatria community. The monthly soup lunch is an ecumenical venture with our friends at St Kentigern’s and operates to bring people together from across the community.
